Amy will perform with Lee Feldman on piano- new songs and old- and harmonies!
Amy Allison has been a fixture on the New York City music scene since starting out with her trio the Maudlins in the late ’80’s. She has made 6 critically lauded solo albums and 1 duet album with Pearlfishers artist David Scott. She also made 2 albums as part of the duo Parlor James, (with Ryan Hedgecock), a critically acclaimed band in the late ’90’s. Amy is the daughter of the late, great jazz/blues artist, Mose Allison.
Some career highlights:
Elvis Costello named Amy’s first album, The Maudlin Years, one of the 500 best albums of all time in Vanity Fair.
Amy had the honor of Emmylou Harris performing her song Her Hair Was Red, along with Rodney Crowell, on their duet album The Traveling Kind.
Bob Dylan name checked Amy and played Laura Cantrell’s lovely version of Amy’s song, The Whiskey Makes You Sweeter on his Theme Time Radio Hour.
“Far from any kind of spotlight, Amy Allison has continued to carve out a career as an extraordinary songwriter and singular performer…..”
All Music Guide
“… a lovely world where urban country mixes freely with 1960’s girl groups, jazz standards and a love of the Smiths to create a distinctive, sophisticated treat.”
