Cabaret Room: Edgar Oliver’s Halloween Extravaganza with Special Guest Angela Rogers: presented by TWEED, 7:00pm

Edgar and Angela will perform excerpts from beloved plays and monologues Edgar has premiered over many Halloweens–plus some new stuff too!

Edgar Oliver is a writer and performer who has lived and worked in New York for many years. He first started performing in New York City at the Pyramid Club in the mid-1980s.

Oliver has written more than a dozen plays, including The Poetry Killer, The Ghost of Brooklyn, and The Seven Year Vacation, which was first produced by TWEED Theaterworks. He is also an accomplished poet who has published poetry collections such as A Portrait of New York by a Wanderer There, The Brooklyn Public Library, and The Puddle Boy, as well as his novella The Man Who Loved Plants.

Oliver is a member of New York’s Axis Theater Company. Most recently, he wrote and performed in the critically acclaimed sold-out run of Victor at Axis Theater Company. Previous solo shows at Axis include East 10th Street: Self Portrait with Empty House (Edinburgh Fringe First); In the Park; and Attorney Street. As a stage actor, he has performed in countless plays. including Edward II with Cliplight Theater; Marc Palmieri’s Carl the Second; Kestutis Nakas’s When Lithuania Ruled the World, and numerous productions at Axis including A Glance at New York (Edinburgh Festival Fringe & NYC); Julius Caesar; USS Frankenstein; and the Hospital series. His one-man show, Helen and Edgar (directed by Catherine Burns of The Moth), performed at Theater 80 St. Marks, Dartmouth College, Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, CA and at the Public Theater as part of the Under the Radar Festival. His film roles include That’s Beautiful Frank; Henry May Long (directed by Randy Sharp) and Gentlemen Broncos (directed by Jared Hess).

Angela Rogers has performed in numerous NYC theatrical productions since the late 1980’s. She is a performance artist, musician and visual artist who is represented by Fountain Gallery. Angela co-founded the musical acts Lone Vein and Ash Negative and has collaborated with composers Meredith Monk, Robert Ashley, Kurt Nurock and William Parker. She wrote the musical pieces “Medea and Tragic Relief,” which was performed at The Hole Gallery. She and Edgar Oliver have worked together on many projects for the past 25 years.

There is a $20 minimum per person (food or beverage).

Tickets at the door are $25 (Cash Only).

The house opens at 6:00pm for food and beverage service. Pangea is known for its delicious food. Please join us for dinner.
