The “downtown-dance firebrand”, Yoshiko Chuma & The School of Hard Knocks, in collaboration with virtuoso pianist Dane Terry and maverick poet Kyle Dacuyan, will be making their highly-anticipated debut at the historic PANGEA on Thursday, February 24th, 2022 @ 7:00pm.

PANGEA guests for this night include the inimitable Lenny Pickett and the iconic Nona Hendryx.

The School of Hard Knocks was founded by Chuma in 1983 during a tumultuous time in New York’s East Village. The name was inspired by the American idiom meaning “to learn things the hard way…” The School of Hard Knocks favors abstract art and discourages efforts to interpret the work, saying that, “What we do is ambiguous. We don’t have a statement. If we had a statement, we would be a writer.”

Proof of Vaccination, a Photo ID and masks are required to enter. Masks required while moving about, using the rest rooms and while not not eating or drinking.

There is a $20 minimum per person (food or beverage).

Tickets at the door are $25 (Cash Only).

The house opens at 6:00pm. Seating is first come first serve. Feel free to dine as early as 5pm in the front lounge area and it will apply towards the minimum.
