Stories of Irving Berlin’s remarkable love life against the backdrop of his great love songs in this “wildly entertaining” show with Lisa Faith Phillips, Deanna Kirk and John Di Martino on piano.

After the success of her Cole Porter and George Gershwin shows, the award-winning writer and performer Lisa Faith Phillips is back to weave funny and touching tales of Irving Berlin’s amazing life with his songs. At just 13 years old, he had to support himself singing for coins on the streets of the Lower East Side, but with the success of Alexander’s Rag Time Band at 21, his career took off. Tragically his first wife died shortly after their marriage and his second wife’s millionaire father disowned her for marrying him inspiring some of his most beautiful love songs. Berlin wrote the music and lyrics for over 1,500 songs during his sixty-year career!

Lisa Faith Phillips has performed her original shows in NYC, London, Dublin, Barcelona and at the DC Capital and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. She is currently studying music theory at Juilliard and working on her first novel Love in the Russian Tea RoomLisafaithphillips.com and Make America Laugh and Sing Again

Deanna Kirk is an American jazz singer, pianist and songwriter based in New York City. She also owned Deanna’s, a jazz club in downtown Manhattan. Deannakirksings.com

John Di Martino is a composer, arranger, jazz pianist, producer, and educator, based in New York City. johndimartino.com
